Merry Chaos? Your 5 minute Inner Sanctuary Guide

Are you ready to swap your worries of lack for something gentler? Is your head full of lists and is your time running out before your eyes? I have so much false bravado at this time of year - not wishing to spoil anyone's fun, yet this pushing down my suffering, grief or worry

is becoming less and less.

How?

I know about a space that feels calm and quiet and truthful. My Inner Sanctuary.

Finding Your Inner Sanctuary: Sharing An Easier Option When Your World is in Holiday Chaos.

When the world around us feels truly exhausting, and life presents us with multiple, compounding challenges, how do you instinctively manage? What is your preferred

reaction what do you do to stop the worries piling up and squeezing out the joy?

WHAT can any of us do when the world is overwhelming and you don't know where to turn?

We look within!

Really ? Yes really, hand on heart!

Let's consider this one simple idea of having our very own inner sanctuary in chaotic times— at any time we wish to access it. It is a simple five minute essential practice of learning to find refuge and rest within yourself. Don't say you don't have time - think of how much time you spend worrying and use some of that, swap it for an easier way to be. Read on McDuff!

I wonder, are you someone who retreats into work to avoid the chaos, using relentless activity as a shield? Or maybe you retreat into social media, seeking distraction and numbness. Perhaps you find yourself consumed by frustration, anxiety, anger, or a quiet sense of hopelessness? Or perhaps, like me, you immediately roll up your sleeves and try to fix things, believing you must single-handedly sort out the entire situation?

Allow me to offer a third, more sustainable option: To take shelter in your own inner landscape. The space of the heart - a place of unconditional harbour. This is the sacred space of stillness where resistance sits beside you until it becomes invisible and falls away.

The Myth of Self-Sufficiency

Like many of us, my default system when facing a challenge is to bunker down and sort it all out myself. I don't know where this pattern was first learned, but it often carries the subtle, painful belief that asking for help is disappointing—a sign of failure. This learned behaviour compels me to push my feelings down, to resist the reality of the situation, to ignore my own needs, and to perpetually put on a brave face.

But this over-functioning comes at a cost.

The truth is, when we react to chaos by pushing harder, we are not simply running low on energy. We are running on 1% battery with 15 apps open. We are soon in a critical, high-alert state, and our system is designed to crash.

Taking shelter within our own stillness is the spiritual equivalent of hitting a silent 'safe mode' button. This is the intentional act of self awareness, of noticing the drain on your inner wellbeing, and from this allowing space being able to close the unnecessary mind chatter apps, one by one. And so begins the process of replenishing our inner sources of self-care, simply by allowing and not resisting the space we find ourselves within.

Now we can build a true foundation of nourishment.

Introducing the Sanctuary Blueprint

Here is your 5-step Sanctuary Blueprint to help you move beyond the exhausting cycle of fixing and failing.

This blueprint is designed to help you:

•       Become aware of those learned behaviours that feel heavy and stuck .

•       Replace the feeling of resisting those patterns and allow them to be as they are - just for now. Resistance amps them up .

•       Take shelter within a few seconds and retreat into the safest place you know: your own inner wisdom - a gentle restful quieter place to be.

•       Create a foundation of nourishment that sustains you, come and find out more about simply being on the path of stillness, rather than accepting what drains you.

•       Simply replenish your inner sources of self- care so you can operate from a place of wellbeing abundance.

This is your time to give yourself complete self care, take five seconds, or 5 minutes to become fully aware of the rise and fall of emotions how you stop pushing down your emotions, or feeling disappointed when you need support, and allows  the frantic, exhausting effort to fall away. This is how you begin to find your Sanctuary during times of challenge and chaos.

Take care - you matter.
